Winter in Dragør - mixed media illustration by Liv Hansen

Recently published on Saatchi Art, is a mixed-media (pencil and small amounts of acrylic paint) piece I made titled "Winter in Dragør" As a Danish artist, who's spent most of my life living outside of Denmark, I still feel very much connected to Denmark and, perhaps especially so, to my birth city of Copenhagen. Painting and drawing works inspired by Denmark bring a lot of joy. Measuring 8.3 inches by 5.8 inches, "Winter in Dragør" showcases a magical snowy night in Copenhagen. The piece is driven by the immediacy of personal experience, feelings, and the unlimited power of imagination and is a mix of a harmonious blend of colors, including yellow, gray, white, black, and brown. These colors work together to create a sense of warmth and coziness, even in the midst of a snowy freezing landscape.

The inspiration for Winter in Dragør comes from my many visits to the old town of Dragør, with its recognizable yellow houses and rich history. You can truly sense the history and the stories that reside within the walls of this charming town.
